Ludwig Van Beethoven

Posted by Unknown

Ludwig Van Beethoven was born December 17th , 1770. He was a German composer and pianist, and is well known today to be one of the top composers of all time.He was born in Bonn, and part of the Holy Roman Empire. As a child he was partially deaf and was still a great pianist. By a young age he already had perfect pitch and knew every note by ear. During his first years, he studied with Mozart and became friends with Haydn.

After 22 years, he moved to Vienna to become a virtuoso pianist. He quickly established a reputation as one of the best pianists around. He was very foolish and stupid though, he threw away lots of his money and drank a lot. This was one of his only setbacks, and may have been what lead to his death.

As he got older, he wrote more and more. He would often only leave his building once a week for food. He stopped performing, and got very ill and even more deaf. He drank more to try to feel better, but that just worsened his symptoms. At the age of 56 he died of a liver failure due to alcohol consumption. He wrote many great pieces throughout his life, and is known as one of the greatest composers of all time.
