Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky was born on December 16th, 1866. As a child, he was fascinated by colors. This is probably what lead to him being a famous abstract painter when he was older. He was born into a tea shop run by his two parents, Lidia Ticheeva and Silvestraacha Kandinsky.
As a child for him, art was so easy compared to the rest of his fellow students. While other students struggled with art, he excelled at it. Sadly enough though, he did fairly poorly with most of his other subjects. Aside from this, he had a rather uneventful and undocumented childhood, there isn't much said about it anywhere.
He enrolled at the University of Moscow after graduating from basic school. He studied law and economics, but what he really loved was art. After a while of this, he decided to pursue art. He was offered a professorship at the University of Dorpat, painting things like anatomy, and life drawings. I don't believe he enjoyed this though, as in his future art, he didn't include a drawing of a single living thing. It was all strange abstract stuff.
After World War I broke out near Moscow, he didn't consider the usual art methods and theories used in Moscow anymore. He started developing his own painting method "using the soul". People were impressed, he was hired to teach at the Bauhaus school of Art and Architecture for 11 years, until the Nazi's closed it.
He continued to draw abstract art, until he died in 1944. An interesting fact: 2 of his paintings were sold in 2012, one was sold for $23,000,000, another for $20,900,000.
