Edvard Munch

Edvard Munch was a popular artist back in the 1800's. He was born into a family where his parents were both mildly insane. As Munch would later say, he inherited two terrible things, consumption, and insanity.
When he turned 18 he enrolled in the military. He thought he had absolutely no future, so he just did what was availiable. After seeing many lakes and rivers he thought were beautiful, and seeing lots of men die, combined with the low pay, he quit the military and went to an art school.
He then learned to paint very well. He would go on the rest of his life to barely make a living off of his paintings. His most famous painting "Scream" (which there are four copies of in the world) sold for over $100,000,000 just this year. The other three had been stolen and are now partially damaged. What I like about his art, is there is typically a nice centerpiece. You can always tell what's going on.
