Giorgione

Giorgione was born in 1477 or 1478 (not known for sure) in Italy. Little is known about his childhood, or about him in general. Only six of his works have been uncovered and named to be surely his. He is considered one of the most "mysterious" famous painters of all time. Together with Titan (another famous painter at this time) they founded the Venetian school of Italian Renaissance painting.
Although not much is known about him, what is is very important. He was said to have created "Western painting" in 1508 with his painting "The tempest" . He experimented with very many different kinds of painting along with his friend Titan. Their painting styles were very similar though. Today in the Louvre, most of the paintings in which they are unclear about have been accredited to Titan, not Giorgione. Giorgione died at the young age of 33.
